How to Upsell to Users with Multiple Devices at Once

🎯 Objective:

To identify and convert opportunities where users may have 2 or more devices, and guide them to place separate orders — increasing total pickups per user.

👥 Applicable Teams:

  • Sales & Calling Team

  • Support Team (Post-sale follow-ups)

🪜 Step-by-Step Process

✅ Step 1: Probe Gently for Extra Devices

During the call, once the user confirms their main device:

“By the way, do you have any other phones, tablets, or gadgets lying unused at home? We can buy those too.”

✅ Step 2: Highlight the Benefits

“We’re running a free pickup on multiple devices and you’ll get instant payment for each device separately — super convenient if you want to clear out old phones.”

You can also add:

“Even old models or partially damaged phones are accepted.”

✅ Step 3: Guide User on How to Sell Multiple Devices

“All you need to do is place a separate order for each device on our site or I can guide you through it right now.”

If they’re on call:

  • Help them place second order

  • Or note device and offer to send follow-up WhatsApp with link

✅ Step 4: Reassure About Pickup & Payment

“We’ll try to assign the same vendor so that both devices get picked up together. Payment will be done for each device on the spot.”

✅ Step 5: Offer Gentle Push

If user sounds unsure:

“No pressure — but since the vendor is already coming, this is the best time to get rid of that second device.”

🔁 Example Scenarios

Scenario

Suggested Script

Extra phone at home

“Any other phones your family members aren’t using?”

Tablet or laptop

“We also buy iPads and laptops — want me to check the price for that too?”

Old/damaged phones

“We accept broken or locked phones too — might still get a decent value!”

🧠 Best Practices

  • Upsell after confirming first device so user is already committed

  • Use soft language like “just checking” or “by the way”

  • Always mention instant payment and same pickup slot

  • Use multi-device users for referral pitches too (e.g., “refer your friend’s device too!”)
