How to Disable/Remove an Area or Device Type Due to Low Vendor Coverage

✅ Purpose:

To temporarily disable a serviceable pincode or specific device types when vendor coverage is low, unavailable, or paused — and notify the vendor onboarding team to reactivate the area once resolved.

👥 Who’s Involved:

  • Ops Executive: Disables the area or device types in Admin Panel.

  • Vendor Onboarding Team: Sources a new vendor for that pincode.

  • Ops Manager (CCed): Tracks and ensures reactivation follow-up.

🪜 Step-by-Step Process:

Step 1: Identify the Area to Be Disabled

  • Go to Admin Panel → Areas.

  • Use the search bar to find the pincode or city with poor vendor availability.

  • Click “Edit” next to the area.

Step 2: Disable Specific Device Types (Optional)

In the Edit Area popup:

    • Uncheck device types (e.g., Mac, Laptop) with no vendor support.

    • Leave other supported device types checked.

Step 3: Disable Entire Area (If Needed)

  • Toggle OFF the ✅ “Is Area Serviceable” checkbox.

  • This stops leads from being generated in the customer and vendor apps for this pincode.

Step 4: Click “Update Area”

  • Click the green “Update Area” button to save changes.

  • Changes take effect immediately across platforms.

Step 5: Notify Vendor Onboarding Team via Email

Send an email to request vendor onboarding for the disabled area.

Subject: 🚫 Area Disabled Due to No Vendor – Pincode [4000XX]

Body Template:

Hi Team,

We’ve disabled the following service area on the Admin Panel due to lack of vendor support:

- 📍 Pincode: 4000XX
- 🏙️ City: Mumbai
- 📦 Devices Disabled: Mac, Laptop
- ❌ Reason: No active vendor available in the area

Kindly initiate vendor sourcing for this area and notify us once at least one vendor is onboarded and ready to serve.

Once confirmed, we will re-enable the area and devices on the panel.

Thanks,

✅ Best Practices:

Scenario

Action

No vendor for Mac only

Uncheck only Mac, keep area active

No vendor for entire pincode

Disable entire area (toggle off)

New vendor added later

Re-enable device types or area

Area disabled >30 days

Escalate for priority vendor onboarding
